F5 opens NYC tech center

Seattle networking company F5 today announced that it’s opening a new technology center in New York, including a conference center and state of the art datacenter that it will use to demonstrate its software and hardware to customers.

The facility will be the third “international technology center” that F5 operates. Others are in Seattle and London.

F5 has five dedicated employees supporting the centers, plus “additional virtual team members,” a spokeswoman said.

No research and development work will be done at the New York center, at 600 Lexington Ave. in Manhattan. It’s strictly for prototyping, performance and compatibility testing for customers and partners, the spokeswoman said.
