Analytics venture Context Relevant raises $7 million

Seattle predictive analytics venture Context Relevant announcing today that it has raised $7 million from investors, including Paul Allen and the new Bloomberg Beta fund.

The 20-person company is developing an application that automates “big data” analysis. It’s led by Microsoft veterans who last summer raised $1.3 million in seed funding from Seattle’s Madrona Venture Group and others.

Madrona contributed to the $7 million Series A funding announced today, along with Seattle investor Geoff Entress, Allen’s Vulcan Capital, Bloomberg Beta and others.

Context Relevant plans to use its additional funding for product development and marketing its packaged analytics solutions for finance, Web personalization and online travel.
