Video: Early glimpse of new gold and blue iPhones?

Here’s a fairly convincing video that allegedly shows the gold and blue housings of the new iPhones coming Sept. 10.

The video was posted by AppAdvice.com, which didn’t say much about its origins.

The ballyhooed gold case on the “iPhone 5S” is subtle and conservative; it looks to me like a makeup case you’d find at Nordstrom. After the breathless coverage the gold case received from tech blogs, it’s a bit underwhelming and much less fun than the gold-accented Wii U GamePad that Nintendo unveiled today.

Apple’s baby blue case on the “iPhone 5C”– if that’s what we’re seeing — seems to echo the soft colors of iOS 7. Maybe Apple went for subdued colors to avoid being accused of copying Nokia, which has made boldly colored plastic cases a signature of its Lumia line for several years now.
