Fire phone a turning point for Amazon

Steve Jobs famously had a “reality distortion field” that skewed perceptions of Apple, so people could only see the company in a positive light.

Now Jeff Bezos has “Dynamic Perspective,” a technology on the new Fire phone that lets Amazon.com see what you’re viewing, then alter the image so it seems more compelling.

Ballmer to retire, brace yourself NBA

Microsoft’s loss may be Seattle basketball fans’ gain.

Steve Ballmer’s going to need to do something in his retirement besides mow the lawn at his Hunts Point mansion. He’s also clearly been bitten by the pro sports bug, after nearly winning an NBA franchise for Seattle over the last year.
