Round-up: Seattle a hot spot for international students, 5 more schools get speed cameras

Seattle a hot spot for international college students: The number of international students coming to the U.S. grew fivefold between 2001 and 2012, with Seattle serving as the 16th most-popular city for foreign students to study in. Though some critics say international students take away college slots from Washington residents, the newcomers typically pay much higher tuition rates than in-state students.

Everett summer school program helps late graduates earn diplomas (The Herald): The Everett School District saw a slight bump in the number of students who participated in summer commencement exercises this year. Each summer, the district helps those who fail to graduate on time earn credits through an intensive make-up program.

Five more Seattle schools get speed cameras: A total of nine schools within the city of Seattle now have speed cameras.
