Survey finds more college students feel overwhelmed (The New York Times): An annual survey of freshmen college students conducted by UCLA’s Higher Education Research Institute found high numbers of students begin college feeling depressed and overwhelmed. Of the 150,000 students who completed the survey last fall, 9.5 percent reported they had frequently felt depressed in the last year, compared to 6.1 percent five years ago.
Highline district goes back to voters with new bond measure (KPLU): Highline Public Schools is once again trying to pass a bond measure that would rebuild Highline High School and build two new middle schools, among other projects. This measure will be decided in a special election next Tuesday, Feb. 10.
