New football rankings

Edmonds-Woodway continued its ascent up our top 10, leaping from sixth to fourth after another convincing victory. Moses Lake makes its debut in the poll at eighth after three big wins.

Eastlake’s comeback after trailing 14-0 to Woodinville last Thursday helped the Wolves stay at third. Does Woodinville deserve to stay ninth? The Falcons can have their say this Friday at home against Inglemoor.

In Class 3A, Skyline jumps ahead of O’Dea to third. Just a stronger schedule to this point, with dominating defensive games against Bellevue and Newport. It’s nothing against the Irish, who get their proving grounds in a couple of weeks, when they go against 10th-ranked Bainbridge and ninth-ranked Eastside Catholic back-to-back. Speaking of those two teams, they play each other on Friday night at Bainbridge. Winner takes the first step to the Metro title.
