Best Western Washington football venues

It didn’t matter that it was raining. It didn’t matter that there weren’t enough seats. It didn’t matter that their team was getting clobbered.

Last Friday’s game between Snohomish and Oak Harbor at Snohomish’s Veterans Memorial Stadium was one of the best high-school football environments that I’d ever seen. And though the home team got drilled 34-14, the place was still packed and fans still supportive.

So with a stadium that was sold out — if a high school game can, in fact, be sold out — and with hundreds of fans settling for the standing-room-only seats (seats?), what venue can have an atmosphere better for high-school football?

I haven’t been all over the state to see other stadiums, so I’ll leave this one in your hands: what are some of the best venues to see a HS football game?

Make it happen in the comments.

Morning stars

1. Holland Crook, Beamer, girls soccer. She had a hat trick — her fourth straight — and was credited with a shutout in a 7-0 win over Spanaway Lake. She now has 13 goals this season.

2. Amanda Roselli, Fife, girls soccer. Had four goals in a 6-0 win over Foster.

3. Haley Abbott, Cedar Park Christian (Bothell), volleyball. The senior had 21 kills, 19 digs and four blocks in a 3-2 win over Annie Wright. Talk about all-around dominance.
