More important: good running back or good quarterback?

Sandy hit on this a little already Monday, but let’s open up the discussion.

Let’s talk hypotheticals: If you’re starting a new high-school football team and have your choice of building around a star running back or star quarterback, who do you take?

You have to consider that a good running back can dominate the line of scrimmage and keep the clock in a team’s favor, but if a team’s losing big, what good is the ground game?

On the other hand, if a team’s winning big, a stud running back is able to grind out the yards, keep the chains moving and control the game.

So, which is it? Stud running back or QB?
