Ky. dad charges field, hits opponent

This week’s chapter in Parents Gone Wild…

A father of a player for the Wayne County (Ky.) Cardinal charged on the field after he thought a hit by a Garrard County player was too hard. But then the man, who police say is 50-year-old Kirby Thompson, took it another step. He hit the Garrard County player in the head.

You can see the video here.

Don’t think there’s much to add here.

In other football news, I posted the new Seattle Times rankings last night, but I also just received the StudentSports.com regional rankings.

In the West, Lakes comes in at 7th, Ferris at 14th, and Bothell at 18th. Skyline and Kamiakin have been listed as teams “on the bubble,” outside the top 20.

Morning stars

1. Stefan Richardson, Eastside Catholic, boys golf. Shot a 3-under 69 at Riverbend to win the Sea-King 3A championships.

2. Emily Hurd, Eastlake, girls soccer. Scored twice in a 5-0 victory that kept the Wolves undefeated in KingCo 4A.

3. Ashley Eneliko, Kennedy, volleyball. Had 24 kills and 11 digs in victory against Mount Rainier.
