Final Seattle Times football rankings

Bothell finally convinced us.

With a 35-0 victory against Gig Harbor — which three weeks ago sat at sixth in these very rankings — Bothell takes over the top spot in The Seattle Times Clas 4A rankings. Ferris of Spokane, which outlasted Moses Lake 28-27, goes to second. If both these teams keep winning, Bothell will play Ferris in the 4A semifinals — in Spokane. The Cougars will have to get past the new No. 8, Central Kitsap, this week.

There are two other games this week between top 10 teams in 4A: No. 3 Edmonds-Woodway plays No. 6 Snohomish at Memorial Stadium, and No. 4 Oak Harbor hosts No. 7 Olympia.

The big game of the week, though, is in Class 3A, where No. 2 Skyline will host top-ranked Lakes on Saturday at 1 p.m. Also in 3A, No. 4 O’Dea plays No. 10 Auburn at Memorial Stadium.

Two teams make their debut in the final poll: Central Kitsap and Auburn.

From this point on, the teams will settle it all on the field.
