Wild weekend in Lakewood

Josh and I were in Lakewood for the 2A/3A/4A state soccer tournaments over the weekend and it was a wild one.

It was a lot of soccer and a lot of fun. Really strong competition and well-rounded teams. And if you’re a fan of shootouts, you would have loved this weekend.

In Friday’s semis, four of the six games went to shootouts. And, fittingly, the last game of the weekend, the 4A title, came down to penalty kicks.

Blog-Daddy Tom touched on this a bit Sunday, but congrats to those Eastside teams. Issaquah and Eastlake both capped off undefeated seasons and won the 3A and 4A titles, respectively.

Fife won the 2A championship.

That’ll do it for soccer until the spring. Until basketball starts in a few weeks, there’s not a whole lot going on prep-sports-wise. Just a few football games or something next weekend.
