We had a short mention of this story in today’s paper. Parkview High School junior Anthony Hobbs, 16, collapsed in the first quarter Wednesday as he headed to bench after a substitution in a game against Lake Hamilton.
I wanted to repeat this note we ran in the paper for those who might not have seen it:
In an attempt to prevent deaths due to undetected heart problems, the Anthony Bates Foundation will offer free heart screenings from 12:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 17 at Bishop Blanchet High School to people ages 12-22. Pre-registration, at www.AnthonyBates.org, is recommended.
You can find the Associated Press version of the story here.
Feel free to contribute your thoughts on the situation in the comments.
