High School Wrestler’s Crazy Flip Wins Match

Brent Foxhoven, a wrestler from Archbishop Bergan High School in Nebraska, pulled off the move of the year.

Eyes wide and mouth open would be the appropriate response to a move that cool.

In more local wrestling news, Snohomish snapped Lake Stevens’ steak of 117 straight WesCo dual meet wins with a 34-18 victory Thursday at Snohomish High School. The Vikings’ streak started about 15 years ago, when the current Lake Stevens wrestlers were just infants.

Morning stars:

1. Sterling Carter, Franklin, boys basketball. The 6-foot junior guard scored six points including the game-winning putback as Franklin stunned Fairfax of LA with a 56-55 victory at the King Holiday Hoopfest.

2. Josh Smith, Kentwood, boys basketball. The 6-10 sophomore scored 29 in KW’s 80-75 non-league victory over Bellarmine Prep at the King Holiday Hoopfest.

3. Kristi Kingma, Jackson, girls basketball. Playing on her future court, the UW-bound Kingma led Jackson to a 65-62 win over Kentwood at the Hoopfest with 21 points, nine rebounds and eight assists.
