The latest news and analysis on high-school sports around the Seattle area

Spring (Sports) Is In the Air

The days are longer, the sun is brighter and, well, it’s still raining and cold in Seattle. But that’s beside the point.

It’s spring and with that comes the chaos of the final high school sports season. Basketball, wrestling and gymnastics are out. In comes baseball, fastpitch, soccer, track, golf, tennis, lacrosse and pretty much anything else that involves a ball and uniforms.

We’ve already run a few of our spring sports previews (fastpitch and baseball) and while things calm down after the chaos of state hoops, get ready for upwards of 150 results each day. It’s a fun time for high school sports and, hey, maybe we’ll see some sunshine.

Tonight’s top games

Cascade at Jackson, baseball, 4 p.m. Two solid WesCo squads dual it out in some nonleague action.

Meadowdale at Bellevue, baseball, 4 p.m. Should be a fun WesCo-KingCo 3A clash…especially if Mavericks stud pitcher Matt Gorman (UW recruit) is on the hill.
