Midnight practice?

So the first day that fall teams can practice is tomorrow — yes, it’s really here — and one school is getting a jump on the competition by going as early as possible. Evergreen High in White Center and new coach David Lewis are starting at 12:01 a.m. tonight (or tomorrow morning, if you’d like; I’m sticking with tonight). Here’s the schedule for their Midnight Madness practice:

6:00 pm: Individual photos, height/weight/body fat measurements taken, paper work

7:30 pm: Fitness testing (weight lifting max, sprints) and a guest speaker

10:00 pm: Bar-B-Que

11:45 pm: Players prepare for practice

12:01 am: Practice begins

2:00 am: Practice ends

3:00 am: Lights out

7:30 am: Breakfast

9:00 am: Conditioning practice

This would be, for sure, the first such time I’ve heard of this in high school (colleges, especially in basketball, have midnight madness events all the time). That’s a late night and an early morning. But Evergreen might get two practices in before most schools go for the first time tomorrow.
