Bradley not Beach-bound, AD says

I had the chance to talk to Dan Jurdy, the athletic director at Rainier Beach, and he said not to expect Avery Bradley — whom the TNT has reported left Bellarmine Prep — to be a Viking. Jurdy, who acknowledged that just about every high-school star gets linked to Beach at some point, shot down any rumors rather directly.

“He is not coming to Beach,” Jurdy said.

Bradley, a 6-foot-4 shooting guard, vaulted up to eight in Rivals.com’s latest rankings of the nation’s top seniors. Along with Kentwood junior Josh Smith, Bradley had one of the strongest summers of any recruit in the country.

Jurdy also confirmed that Corey Stern, a 6-foot-6 forward whose family moved from Colorado to Seattle this summer, has enrolled at Beach and should be a part of the 2008-09 Vikings team.
