Girls state soccer rankings — week 8

Not a lot of movement in the rankings this week.

On top of the 4A ranks, you’ll notice Kentwood remains at No. 2 despite a 0-0 tie with Tahoma. The result, while negative, did clinch the SPSL North title for the Conqs. Also I believe they had a lot of breathing room over the teams with a loss.

Stadium of Tacoma suffered the upset of the week in a bizarre 5-3 loss to South Kitsap. Jackson of Mill Creek is supplanted in the rankings after a winless week by a Pasco team on a 12-game winning streak.

In the Class 3A side of things, the top 7 teams had perfect weeks, going a combined 12-0 and allowed a combined total of three goals. Lindbergh fell out of the rankings, not just due to another shutout loss to top-ranked Kennedy, but a tie with Mount Rainier. The Rams enter at No. 8 and have probably been overlooked throughout the year and are to thank for Kennedy’s only blemish.

Another new ranked team is Sumner at No. 10.

But a little less conversation, a little more rankings please. As always, tell me I’m wrong if you think so. There are a lot of great teams out there and quality sides that will make a splash at state — including at least one, I’m sure, that isn’t ranked.
