Week 10 playoff football rankings

Some thoughts:

-Forget the first two weeks. Bothell is a different team now, one that clearly deserved to be on the same field as Skyline. The Cougars were a tackle away from winning that game. No matter its record, that team belongs in our top 10. The Cougars are ninth, a spot ahead of Woodinville (which Bothell beat 29-7 this season).

-Of the top 10 teams in 4A, who has the toughest opening games? Marysville-Pilchuck, which plays Issaquah. Gig Harbor hosts Federal Way. And Central Valley must play at 8-1 Richland.

-In 3A, Peninsula gets a tough draw with Mount Si. And if it’s playing well, Rainier Beach has the chance to give Union some trouble in the first round. Liberty and 7-2 North Kitsap should be an interesting game, too.

Class 4A

1. Skyline (Sammamish) 9-0

2. Olympia 9-0

3. Auburn 9-0

4. Southridge (Kennewick) 9-0

6. Gig Harbor 8-1

7. Ferris (Spokane) 8-1

8. Central Valley (Spokane) 8-1

9. Bothell 6-3

10. Woodinville 8-1

On the radar: Richland, Jackson, Rogers, Curtis, Issaquah, Edmonds-Woodway.

1. Bellevue 9-0

2. Ferndale 9-0

3. Lakes (Lakewood) 9-0

4. Union (Vancouver) 9-0

6. Kennedy (Burien) 8-1

7. West Seattle 8-1

8. O’Dea 7-2

9. Liberty (Issaquah) 7-2

10. Peninsula (Gig Harbor) 7-2

On the radar: Hanford, Lindbergh, Timberline, Capital, East Valley.
