L-C, Kamiakin in 4A volleyball final

No. 1 Lewis and Clark of Spokane and No. 4 Kamiakin of Kennewick are both playing superb volleyball right now, so it ought to be a whale of a match when the two meet in the 4A volleyball final tonight.

Kamiakin rolled past Olympia, while L-C topped Skyview — both by 3-0 counts. This will be a rematch of the Eastern Region title match played last Saturday, which L-C won in five.

In earlier elimination matches, Puyallup beat Rogers and Curtis came from behind to beat Edmonds-Woodway. Curtis and Puyallup play for fifth and eighth places. Just last Saturday, Curtis beat Puyallup for the West Central District championship.

Kentwood leads Marysville-Pilchuck in another loser-out contest, 1-0, and a win would give the second-ranked Conquerors a fifth straight trophy. Monroe faces Mead in the other elimination match, coming up in about 15 minutes.

In 2A action, Selah just won its semifinal over Black Hills. The Vikings have won three consecutive state crowns. Tumwater is up 2-0 on Lynden in the other 2A semi.

More later.
