Saturday Morning Stars

1. Taylor Bolibol, Woodinville, and Coral Anderson, Skyline; girls soccer. In the 50th minute, Bolibol scored Woodinville’s only goal in a 1-0 win against Jackson. About two hours later, Anderson scored the only goal in the 41st minute to give Skyline a 1-0 win against Mead. So the top two KingCo 4A teams — who tied atop the standings in the regular season — will meet to decide the state title.

2. Sele Vance, Everett, girl soccer. The Seagulls’ matchup with Kennedy was never close. Vance scored twice in a 4-1 victory. Everett faces Seattle Prep tonight in the state championship.

3. Peter Nguyen, Bellevue, football. Nguyen made a huge difference in Bellevue’s 35-7 win against Liberty, running 23 times for 253 yards and three touchdowns. When he’s healthy, he’s nearly impossible to catch or bring down, and he broke big run after big run against the Patriots.
