Tuesday Morning Stars

1. River Voorhees, Roosevelt, boys basketball. Talk about making the leap. Voorhees, a role player last season, led the Roughriders with 25 points on Monday night in a 59-52 win against Newport.

2. Rachael Kevin, Cedarcrest, girls basketball. The Red Wolves went to overtime last night to beat Mount Si 60-53, and Kevin led four double-digit scorers with 15.

3. Frannie Hemmelgarn, Roosevelt, girls basketball. The girls team at Roosevelt also beat Newport last night, and Hemmelgarn led the way with 15 points in a 61-55 win.
