Franklin boys bball team stuck in Las Vegas

The Quakers have not yet arrived in Fairdale, Kentucky, for the King of the Bluegrass Holiday Classic basketball tournament. Not in full at least.

The Franklin boys basketball team and traveling party are stuck in Las Vegas at the airport due to a snowstorm.

Coach Jason Kerr called The Seattle Times and said six members of the team and one coach were able to make it out Thursday night and were scheduled to arrive in Kentucky either Thursday night or Friday morning. Kerr and the rest of the team are still waiting for an available flight out of Las Vegas. They hope to catch a connecting flight via Chicago on Friday morning, but conditions in Chicago are not much better.

The arrival of the full team to Fairdale for Friday’s 7:30 p.m. (Kentucky local time) game is still in doubt and it is unsure whether or not the team would play with the six players. The game was originally scheduled for Thursday at 7:30 but had to be postponed.

Kerr said the team had received many concerned calls and he wanted to update the situation.
