Tuesday Morning Stars

1. Katie Benson, Snohomish, girls basketball. Benson was the star of the day at the Riverside Invitational, going off for 38 points in a double-overtime win against Jefferson of Portland. Twenty-five of those points came after halftime.

2. Aaron Bright, Bellevue, boys basketball. Bellevue’s roll through the MaxPreps Holiday Classic continues. On Monday, Bright led the Wolverines with 26 points and eight assists, and Bellevue beat Bishop O’Dowd of Oakland 60-47. Bellevue is now in the National Division championship game against Eisenhower of California.

3. Tanner Riley, Mount Si, boys basketball. Riley scored 33 points for the Wildcats, but they weren’t enough in an 84-74 overtime loss to Woodcreek of Roseville, Calif. It was the first loss this season for Mount Si, ranked seventh in Class 3A.
