UPDATE: Brett Kingma out for season with broken arm

I just confirmed with Jackson coach Steve Johnson that sophomore guard Brett Kingma broke his left arm in the Timberwolves game Tuesday against Lynnwood and is out for the season.

After consulting a specialist, it was deemed that surgery is the best option to ensure the break heals correctly. Recovery time is 6-8 weeks, which would likely run through the end of the season. Kingma is expected to make a full recovery with no long-term damage.

The injury occurred early in Jackson’s 46-41 win over the Royal, when Kingma was fouled converting a steal into a lay-up. You can watch the injury in the video courtesy of Jackson videographer Matt Robertson.

Kingma, a 6-foot-2 sharpshooter, came into the game averaging 22.8 points per game and boasts multiple scholarship offers — including one from Gonzaga.
