The latest news and analysis on high-school sports around the Seattle area

Wednesday Morning Stars

1. Louise Baker, Lindbergh, gymnastics. Baker finished with an all-around score of 33.5, and in the dual meet with Renton, she won the bars, the vault and the floor competitions.

2. Sean Stickney, Lake Stevens, boys basketball. What a battle between Stickney and Cascade’s Chris McGrath last night. McGrath scored 34 for Cascade, but Stickney’s 27 — along with 24 from Shane Kaska — led Lake Stevens to a 77-64 win.

3. Shorewood relay teams, boys swimming. Both the 200 medley and 200 free relay teams set state qualifying times, and so did several of the individuals: Mackey Hopen in the 50 free; Tim Tan in the 100 fly; and Bryan Michaels in the 100 breast and 500 free.
