Chris McGrath’s 49 points lead Friday Morning Stars

1. Chris McGrath, Cascade, boys basketball. Once again, Chris McGrath had a huge night up in the WesCo. He scored 49 points, beating the old Cascade record by a whole dozen. He hit 14 of 16 shots, three of four threes, and 12 of 13 free throws. But the Bruins fell just short against Arlington, which hit 38 of 44 free throws

2. Tracy Tuji, Bothell, gymnastics. Tuji posted a great all-around score of 36.6, edging out teammate Molly Michaluk by .05 points. Tuji won the bars at 9.1 and finished second in the beam, vault and floor in a three-team meet. Michaluk won the beam and floor.

3. Sanda Milovic, Kentwood, girls basketball. Milovic, with 24 points, led three Kentwood scorers in double figures as the second-ranked Conquerors cruised against Kent-Meridian.

TONIGHT’S BIG GAME

Franklin at O’Dea, boys basketball, 7:30 p.m. The Quakers take their undefeated record to O’Dea, which is coming off a win against Mount Si. Franklin coach Jason Kerr returns to the high school where he was an assistant for four years.
