Saturday Morning Stars

1. Lake Stevens wrestling. A year after Snohomish shocked Lake Stevens, ending the Vikes’ 117-game winning streak, Lake Stevens blew out Snohomish at home, 50-21. The big match? Lake Stevens Justin Grow beating Snohomish’s Spencer Caraballo for the first time in four tries. “I felt like my heart exploded,” Grow told The Times’ Josh Mayers. “I leapt for joy, and, honestly, I thought I was going to cry.”

2. Mara Koplitz, Enumclaw, girls basketball. Koplitz scored 32 points, and she had all of Enumclaw’s seven points in a 58-55 victory.

3. Josh Smith, Kentwood, boys basketball. As Bill Walton would say: Throw it down, big man! Smith, the 6-foot-9 junior who has just about every Division I program on the west coast following him, had a season-high 36 points and 13 rebounds in a victory against Kentlake.
