Saturday Morning Stars

1. Betsy Kingma, Newport, girls basketall. In a 69-67 win against Garfield, Kingma had 39 points, eight rebounds and two blocks.

2. Travis Miller, Foster, boys basketball. In a win over Evergeen, Miler scored 26 points and added 11 rebounds and 10 assists. They call that a triple-double, my friends.

3. Sarah Anderegg, Interlake, girls basketball. In a 60-47 win against Juanita, Anderegg had incredible totals of 30 points and 23 rebounds. That’s a bunch of boards.

TONIGHT’S BIG GAME

Kentwood at Federal Way, boys basketball, 7:30 p.m. The third-ranked team in Class 4A visits the No. 2 team, and Federal Way won their earlier meeting this season (at Kentwood). The Conks will need to find a way to match up across the court with the balanced Eagles, and Federal Way will need to do everything it can to limit Kentwood’s titanic junior, Josh Smith.
