The latest news and analysis on high-school sports around the Seattle area

Wednesday Morning Stars

1. Josh Smith, Kentwood, boys basketball. Yes, he’s back. Hard to avoid noting Smith when he scored 40 points for the Conquerors — out of 56 total Kentwood points. This is the sixth game of 30 or more for him this season.

2. Ben Eisenhardt, Bainbridge, boys basketball. The tall Spartan, a 6-foot-10 Seattle U. signee, scored 25 points to help Bainbridge beat No. 1 Franklin 62-60. We could have a new No. 1 today in the AP poll — possibly Bellevue — but that depends on how many voters waited until this morning to vote.

3. Morganne Comstock, Kentlake, girls basketball. Comstock scored a team-high 24 to lead Kentlake to an 81-45 win against Tahoma.
