Wednesday Morning Stars

1. Jordan Kidd, Chief Sealth, boys basketball. Kidd scored 31 points, including a half-court three-pointer at the end of the third, to lead the Seahawks to a 74-70 upset of Rainier Beach. I’ll get into this in a post this afternoon, but Sealth might have an outside shot to win the division.

2. Brittany Ruscha, Mariner, girls basketball. Ruscha, no stranger to the morning stars, might have had her top game yet. She had 33 points, 25 rebounds and four blocks in a 61-48 win against Shorewood.

3. Benji Bryant, Inglemoor, boys basketball. Bryant scored 10 of his 28 points in the two overtime periods to lead Inglemoor to a 64-57 win against Woodinville that clinched the KingCo Crown for the Vikings. That means they’ll be on the opposite side of the bracket from Garfield, which is 15-0 in KingCo 4A play, in the district tournament.
