Saturday Morning Stars

1. Kayla Shira, Kentlake, gymnastics. With an all-around score of 38.050, Shira won the Class 4A all-around title and helped Kentlake finish second to Woodinville in the Class 4A team title. The individual titles will be decided today.

2. Garren Riechel, Snohomish, boys swimming. Riechel broke the Class 4A record in the 100 breastsroke with a time of 54.86, and later today he’ll be chasing the overall record. He has already won the 50 freestyle today.

3. Lindsey Newman, South Whidbey, girls basketball. Newman had 40 points and 14 rebounds to lead S. Whidbey to a 70-44 victory against Lakewood.
