Friday Morning Stars

1. Jon Humphrie, Seattlep Prep, boys basketball. When Seattle Prep had trouble finding offense in the first half, Humphrie came through. Through three quarters, he had scored 22 of his 26 points, setting up Prep’s exciting finish in a 60-58 win against Mount Si.

2. DeShea Bell, Kennedy, boys basketball. In a loser-out game against Evergreen, Bell helped keep the Lancers alive with 27 points in a 71-67 victory.

3. Gabi Beyer, Meadowdale, girls basketball. With 19 points, Beyer led four Meadowdale players with at least 10 pointst in the Mavericks’ semifinal against Mt. Vernon. That sets up a district title match with Ferndale, with a state berth on the line.
