FINAL — Gonzaga Prep boys 60, Decatur 54

FINAL — Despite trailing 17-2 in the first quarter, the Bullpups come back to beat Decatur and advance to the quarterfinals. Another great game down here in Tacoma.

0:07.1 left in 4th — Decatur misses again and Stockton drains a couple FTs for the Bullpups, who take a 60-54 lead.

0:15.8 left in 4th — Jerron Smith misses an off-balance shot for Decatur. G-Prep converts two FTs on the other end and leads 58-54.

0:39.8 left in 4th — Tibbs misses a runner, but the Gators get the offensive rebound and call timeout. G-Prep leads 56-54.

1:19 left in 4th — Tibbs forces a steal, then gets the ball make for the game-tying lay-up. On the end, G-Prep’s Nicholas is fouled and makes both FTs. Bullpups up 56-54.

1:29 left in 4th — David Stockton hits a tough runner, on the other end Jerron Smith goes to the line for Decatur. Smith makes both. It’s 54-52.

2:07 left in 4th — Jordan McCloud with the lay-up, credit the assist to Marcus Tibbs. G-Prep up 52-50.

2:58 left in 4th — Decatur can’t buy a bucket, but have been forcing turnovers and playing tough defense to stay in it. Bullpups up 52-48.

3:55 left in 4th — Ryan Nicholas steps to the line and drains a pair of FTs to increase the G-Prep lead to 52-48.

5:16 left in 4th — Jerron Smith hits a three-pointer for Decatur from the corner. Makes it 50-48 Bullpups.

6:13 left in 4th qtr — The Bullpups have missed a couple shots from outside and the Gators haven’t found a bucket either. Still 48-45 G-Prep.

Start of the 4th qtr — I’ve been over at the girls side and thought I’d pick this one up in the fourth quarter. Gonzaga Prep leads 48-45.
