FINAL — Franklin boys 68, Seattle Prep 47

Final — Peyton Siva led the Quakers with 17 points. He also had six assists, five rebounds, five steals, five blocks and shot 8-of-8 from the line. Vonchae Richardson (13) and Freddy Wilson (10) also scored in double figures from Franklin, which shot 65% in the second half.

Prep was led by senior Patrick Nyeko, who had 17 points and seven rebounds. The Panthers shot just 34.7% for the game and 2-9 3FG in the second half. Jon Humphrie added 10 points.

Final — A dominating performance by the Quakers in the second half, highlighted by a 27-3 run. Final stats to come.

0:58.0 4th qtr — The reserves are in now and Franklin awaits the winner of Meadowdale-Enumclaw in the semifinals. Quakers lead 64-42.

1:45 4th qtr — Franklin is running out the clock now and this one will be over soon. After a couple Siva FTs it’s 63-40.

3:39 4th qtr — The Panthers are fouling now, but Franklin isn’t cashing ’em in. Quakers go 1-3 from the line including a miss on the front end of a one-and-one. Then Nyeko hits a three-pointer. It’s 57-38 Franklin. Timeout on the floor.

4:33 4th qtr — Franklin slowing it down a bit now. Prep still hasn’t scored in the quarter. It’s 56-33 Quakers.

5:22 4th qtr — Timeout Franklin. The Quakers are on a 8-0 run to start the quarter and a 25-3 run since Prep last took the lead. It’s 54-33.

6:13 4th qtr — Prep has scored only three points since the 5:21 mark in the third quarter. It’s 52-33 Franklin.

7:39 4th qtr — Siva with another steal and another huge, two-handed slam on the other end. It’s 48-33 now.

End of 3rd qtr — Prep took a lead at 30-29, but it’s been a 17-3 run for Franklin since. Quakers lead 46-33 and are eight minutes away from the semis.

1:17 3rd qtr — A three-point play by Nyeko ends a 13-0 Franklin run. The Quakers are up 42-33.

2:22 3rd qtr — Prep is settling for jumpers now and a missed three-pointer by the Panthers leads to a huge dunk for Siva in transition. The 6-foot-1 senior guard throws it down with two hands and a scream. Timeout Prep. Franklin 40-30.

2:46 3rd qtr — Siva misses and dunk, but Richardson is there for the putback and a foul. Prep takes time out, but the Quakers are on an 8-0 run with a free throw coming. It’s 37-30 Franklin.

3:58 3rd qtr — Chris Holmes gives Franklin the lead back with a lay-up. Then a sky-high Peyton Siva block leads to a Vonchae Richardson lay-up. It’s 33-30 Franklin.

5:21 3rd qtr — Jon Humphrie with the steal then hits a three-pointer in transition to give Prep its first lead since the first quarter. Panthers up 30-29.

6:29 3rd qtr — Stanford converts another Panther steal into a lay-up. It’s 29-27 Franklin.

7:34 3rd qtr — Phillip Stanford steals the ball from Siva and converts the lay-up to pull Prep to within 27-25.

Halftime — Patrick Nyeko leads all players with 11 points and five rebounds, but Prep has only shot 7-23 FG (for 30.4%).

Franklin’s Vonchae Richardson, Vionte Reid and Jesse Hopson each have six points to lead the Quakers, which shot 9-22 FG and made four three-pointers.

Peyton Siva has five points, five assists and two steals but shot just 1-6 from the floor.

Halftime — Franklin leads 27-23 against its Metro rival in what is probably the best game of the tournament so far. Stats are on their way.

0:45.3 2nd qtr — Hopson makes a couple lay-ups for Franklin and Jon Humphrie hits his second three-pointer of the night for Prep. After a couple Nyeko FTs, Franklin leads 25-23.

2:10 2nd qtr — Nyeko drives to the basket for the lay-up. He has eight points now, but his team trails 21-18.

3:43 2nd qtr — Only six combined points in the quarter as this has turned into a bit of a defensive struggle of late. Frankin up 19-16.

4:20 2nd qtr — Franklin definitely not as sharp as yesterday, but give credit the Panthers for playing well. Siva finds Chris Holmes under the basket for a lay-up and Quakers lead 19-16.

6:38 2nd qtr — Jesse Hopson and Patrick Nyeko exchange baskets. These teams seem very familiar with each other. Franklin up 17-16.

End of 1st qtr — Franklin has shot well from outside (4 three-pointers) but Prep is scrapping inside to stay in it. Quakers lead 15-14.

1:55 1st qtr — Vonchae Richardson sinks Franklin’s 4th three-pointer of the game so far and he’s fouled. He misses the free throw but Quakers lead 14-11.

3:40 1st qtr — Patrick Nyeko converts a three-point play to give the Panthers their first lead, but Vionte Reid responds with a three-pointer for Franklin, which leads 8-7.

4:28 1st qtr — Looks like Franklin’s Vonchae Richardson and Freddy Wilson knocked heads in a scramble for a loose ball. Prep is now 4-4 from the line. It’s 5-4 Quakers.

5:13 1st qtr — Prep is missing some shots it needs to make around the basket, but the Quakers haven’t made their Metro rivals pay as yet. Still 5-2 Franklin.

6:37 1st qtr — Peyton Siva catches, shoots and sinks a three-pointer to give Franklin an early 5-2 lead.

Pregame: About ready for the player introductions. A mere minutes away now.

Pregame: At 4:18 p.m. the final consolation game is over. Rogers of Spokane wins 68-59. Should be about 20-25 minutes now until tipoff.

Pregame: It’s 3:58 p.m. right now and there is 4:07 left in this last consolation game. Rogers of Spokane leads 54-47. We might another half hour away from tipoff.

Pregame: The first consolation game of the day between Lakes and Shadle Park went to overtime, so we’re a bit behind today. We’re currently midway through the third quarter of the last consolation game.

Tipoff for our quarterfinal between the Quakers and Panthers should be in about 45 minutes. I’ll be you updated as we near the end of this game.

In earlier action, the Lancers won 72-64. O’Dea crushed North Kitsap 67-42 and Foster eliminated Lynnwood 58-48.
