State boys soccer rankings: week 3

We have a new number one team in the 4A ranks this week: the Pasco Bulldogs. Previous No. 1 Bellarmine Prep had a minor bump in the road with a 0-0 draw with Crescent Comprehensive (admittedly a team I know nothing about), which allowed the Big Nine powerhouse to move up.

Pasco is 8-0-0 this season and hasn’t conceded a single goal all season, outscoring opponents 28-0. By contrast, B. Prep has a 22-4 scoring differential in ten games.

It was a bit of a moving week in 4A. University of Spokane, previously No. 3, lost two one-goal games out east and drops to the bubble. Curtis and Kamiakin also dropped out of the rankings with losses. Keep an eye on Stadium, which in five games has outscored opponents 32-1 (perhaps the top scoring differential in the state).

The parity in the KingCo 4A and SPSL 4A leagues absolutely kills me. Multiple teams (at least three) with just one loss this season didn’t even make the bubble. To compare, there are no one-loss 3A teams that aren’t on the bubble.

In 3A, things stayed pretty similar up top for the most part. Some upsets in the Seamount League shook some things up. After a winless week, state runner-up Kennedy is now on the bubble.

Yelm, Columbia River and Capital are all new to the top 10 this week.

As always, let me know you’re opinions or sleepers if you’ve seen some teams this season.

And, like last week, let me know if any win/loss records are off.
