State boys soccer rankings: week four

A lot is going on this busy Monday morning, so I’ll have to get in and out of here a bit faster than normal.

In the 4A ranks, we had quite a bit of a shakeup. Statewide parity in the big schools saw a lot of top teams suffer some tough decisions. Right now the eyes are on the Narrows League, which has three unbeatens waiting to fight it out in the last couple weeks of the season.

It certainly appears that I’ve been underestimating Marysville-Pilchuck a little, so the unbeaten Tomahawks move up. Rogers, Kentridge and Kamiakin enter the top 10 this week and a bunch of new teams are on the bubble.

As crazy as the 4A week was, the 3A week was remarkably tame. The top eight teams won each our their games and teams 9-10 lost to higher ranked teams.

I considered dropping Columbia River and Capital from the rankings after their losses, but the top teams on the bubble took a little hit and a 3-1 loss to top-ranked Camas by the Chieftains didn’t seem worthy of punishment. There are also quite a few new teams on the 3A bubble.

Like I’ve been saying all year. Feel free to offer your insights, I still haven’t been out to a game this year. And let me know if any records are off.
