Saturday Morning Stars

1. Max Foster, Snohomish, baseball. Foster hit a pair of home runs: a two-run homer in the first followed by a grand slam in the second, and his six RBIs helped Snohomish run away from Stanwood in a 15-0 victory.

2. Brittany Jeans, Stanwood, softball. We had some mercy-rule no-hitter last night — Juanita’s Kylie Sparks in five innings and Kennedy’s Toni Spadoni in four — but my pitching performance of the night goes to Jeans, who held Everett scoreless for eight innings, enough time for Shawna Hochstetler to drive in the winning run of a 1-0 victory.

3. Michael Englund, Eastside Catholic, baseball. In a 12-7 win against Seattle Prep, Englund went 4-for-4 with a triple, but here’s the impressive part that lands him on this list: stole five bases. Great mix of power and speed, and that’s why Arizona State wants him.
