Softball update — Terrace, Redmond advance

It’s not often you throw a no-hitter, and lose, but that’s what happened to Kentwood’s Kayla Evans. She no-hit Mountlake Terrace, but the Conquerors fell 1-0 on a bases-loaded walk. Kori Seidlitz allowed three hits and struck out 13. She was also the one who drew the RBI walk. Plus, with Kentwood runners and first and second in the top of the seventh, Seidlitz snagged a line drive up the middle to end the game.

Terrace plays Mountain View of Vancouver, a 3-0 winner over Kennwick.

Redmond also moved to the quarterfinals, topping Jefferson 6-1. The Mustangs, third here last year, face Central Kitsap of Silverdale, which beat Kamiakin of Kennewick, 6-1.

The 3A quarterfinals are going on right now. In consolation play, top-ranked Juanita rebounded from that opening loss to Mount Rainier to beat North Central of Spokane, 8-5. The Rebels play another loser-out game at 7 p.m. West Seattle was eliminated by Sedro-Woolley.
