Class 4A state soccer championship game — Pasco v. South Kitsap

FINAL: South Kitsap holds on for the 2-1 win. Pasco had its chances, but SK also could’ve had a couple penalty-kick appeals get waved down. A thrilling match from two great teams.

60th minute: Pasco pulls a goal back on a scrambled mess in the SK penalty box that sees the ball go just over the line. Richard Renteria credited with the score.

57th minute: Dixon Hammer scores on a double-header for the Wolves. South Kitsap leads 2-0. Kaleb Craig tossed a throw-in in front of the goal that was flicked on by Justin Moore to Hammer.

HALFTIME: Wolves lead 1-0. The game is still being played even. Pasco has certainly had enough chances to score.

32nd minute: GOAL! South Kitsap’s Brent Ricigliano fired an impressive 20-yard shot past the diving Bulldogs keeper for the opener. Wolves lead 1-0.

30th minute: Writing the game story from the 3A championship has kept me from being able to update this one. We’re still scoreless and the run of play has looked even so far. Each teams have had some great chances — some denied by the post.
