State soccer thread — 4A third/fourth game, Woodinville v. Marysville-Pilchuck

FINAL: The Tomahawks had plenty of chances, but could never break through. Up next, the Class 3A state championship game between No. 2 Shorecrest and No. 5 West Valley of Yakima.

76th minuteGOAL! A little bit of confusion here. Wes Sagawa fired a hopeful shot toward goal that somehow ended up in the net. Looked like there was some miscommunication in the M-P defense. The refs conferred a while before allowing it. REgardless, it’s 2-0 Falcons.

40th minuteGOAL! Woodinville’s PJ Mooney scores on a diving header to put the Falcons up just before halftime (there were 25.9 seconds on the clock). Credit the fine assist to David Surdyk.

20th minute — POST! Woodinville junior midfielder Joe Bellefeuille makes a great run through the M-P defense and fires a shot far post that clangs off the post. Definitely the best chance of the game so far.

7th minute — Just under way and the Tomahawks have had the better of it so far.
