You’ve probably heard by now that No. 2 Bishop Blanchet topped No. 1 Eastside Catholic last night in Metro League volleyball play, 3-0.
It was the second big victory in three days for the Braves, who beat No. 3 Seattle Prep on Monday.
But the challenge gets even stiffer this Saturday as Blanchet competes in the 27-team Kent Classic, which is played at Kentlake and Kentwood high schools.
Not only are Eastside Catholic and Seattle Prep entered as well, but the field includes several other ranked teams — including Central Catholic of Portland, which is rated No. 32 in the nation by PrepVolleyball.com.
Eastside Catholic, incidentally, was No. 93 in that national poll, but that’s bound to change next week.

Blanchet is in the same pool with Skyview of Vancouver, ranked No. 5 in The Times’ 4A poll, and a tough Kentridge team.
We’ll have someone at the tournament, so you’ll be able to read about it Sunday, and I’ll be following up with new rankings and more details on Monday.
