Not many changes of note in the rankings this week. Some leagues around the state have wrapped up their regular seasons, so teams (that might have been overlooked in the rankings throughout the year) will have a chance to make a statement in the postseason.
Briefly, defending Class 4A champion Skyline lost again last week and takes a drop. We also welcome a new team to the bubble this week: Edmonds-Woodway. The 9-2-3 Warriors have allowed just five goals all season.
I’m compelled to find a way to get Kentwood in the top 10 with seemingly one of the best defense in the state, but the Conquerors have scored more than three goals in just two games this season – though I’m probably way off. That is definitely the team I struggle the most with.
In Class 3A, Metro League attrition continues to shake things up. Holy Names and Seattle Prep take a stumble, which allows Mount Vernon up north to jump up.
Again, I’m always open to feedback. Let me know which teams I’m overlooking.
And if you notice any inaccurate win-loss records, please let me know. Records are compiled by coach reports, media reports and the WIAA website.
