Final state girls soccer rankings

I thought we might have a crazy week leading up to the state tournaments, and boy did we.

Some quality, quality sides (Everett, Woodinville, Mead, Mount Spokane) had their seasons end short of the round of 16. The result? I think the brackets are wide open — the 4A one was anyway and 3A foes won’t miss the Seagulls, who tore through the competition last year.

Action starts tomorrow night where nearly half the teams left will be eliminated. There are certainly a lot of eye-catching first-round matchups and some great soccer is waiting to be played.

In this final edition of the state rankings I will rank the remaining 16 teams left in each classification. Similar to how we ranked our football teams this week and how we’ve done this in the past.

Tomorrow I will have a prediction post, where I pick the winners of all the games, including a state champion.

If you notice any inaccurate win-loss records, please let me know. Records are compiled by coach reports, media reports and the WIAA website. Let me know your thoughts. Any favorites or sleepers out there?
