Liberty excited to practice at Seahawks’ facility

I was up at Liberty today to talk with coach Steve Valach as well as running back Chandler Jenkins, who will be featured in our preview section on Friday.

Valach was excited to tell his players they’ll be turning out at the Seattle Seahawks’ training facility tomorrow evening — he’d just gotten the invitation this morning.

Liberty has some direct ties to the Seahawks in that of the assistant coaches (Greg Knapp and Robert Prince) have daughters who attend the school. Plus Colin Cole, one of the Hawks’ defensive tackles, has a step-son at Liberty who hasn’t been able to play because of an injury.

But Valach was quick to point out that the Patriots aren’t getting any special treatment, noting that Bellevue and Skyline used the practice facility before last year’s 3A and 4A championship games.
