Tickets for the Feb. 2 boys basketball game between Kentwood and Jefferson of Portland go on sale Jan. 25 in the Kentwood cashier’s office, which will be open between 7-7:30 a.m. and 2:15-3 p.m.
Cost is $10 and no passes are being accepted, according to Jo Anne Daughtry, Kentwood athletic director.
Tip-off will be at 8 p.m. and the game is being televised by ESPN2.
Remaining tickets will be sold at the door, which will open at 7 p.m.
Jefferson features 6-foot-9 guard Terrance Jones, who led the Democrats to a 62-58 victory over Federal Way in the marquee game of the King Holiday Hoopfest at Edmundson Pavilion last night.
Jerry Brewer wrote this column about Jones in today’s Seattle Times.
Kentwood features 6-10 Joshua Smith, who has missed considerable time this season with a torn patellar tendon. He returned for one game last week against Tahoma, but apparently re-aggravated the injury and sat out the next two games, including the Conquerors’ high-profile contest last Saturday in the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame’s Spalding Hoophall Classic in Springfield, Mass.
At last check, Smith was expected to play tonight as Kentwood plays at Auburn Riverside.
