SPSL 4A basketball tiebreakers set for Tuesday

The SPSL 4A basketball picture is a bit of a mess.

Several tiebreaker games (and mini-games) are required Tuesday to sort out seeding into the league tournament, which begins Thursday at the Showare Center in Kent.

Below is the schedule sent out this afternoon. Note that in the boys three-way tiebreaker for the 2-3-4 seeds in the SPSL South between Puyallup, Decatur and Beamer, Puyallup gets the first-round bye because they were the only one of the three to beat Curtis, the division champion.

Auburn High School

7:00 p.m. SPSL South Boys 2nd place 3-WayTiebreaker

Mini Game 1: Beamer (visiting dark) vs. Decatur (home white)

(winner plays Puyallup, loser is SPSL South #4)

Mini Game 2: Game 1 winner vs. Puyallup

(winner is SPSL South #2, loser is SPSL South #3)

Tahoma High School

6:00 p.m. SPSL North Girls 4th place Tiebreaker

Auburn (visiting dark) vs. Kentlake (home white)

(winner is SPSL North #4, loser is SPSL North #5)

8:00 p.m. SPSL North Girls 2nd place Tiebreaker

Kentwood (visiting dark) vs. Federal Way (home white)

(winner is SPSL North #2, loser is SPSL North #3)

Emerald Ridge High School

6:00 p.m. SPSL South Boys 5th place Tiebreaker

Rogers (visiting dark) vs. Bethel (home white)

(winner is SPSL South #5, loser is out)

8:00 p.m. SPSL South Girls 2nd place Tiebreaker

Rogers (visiting dark) vs. Puyallup (home white)

(winner is SPSL South #2, loser is SPSL South #3)

Bethel High School

7:00 p.m. SPSL South Girls 4th place Tiebreaker

Graham-Kapowsin (visiting dark) vs. Emerald Ridge (home white)

(winner is SPSL South #4, loser is SPSL South #5)
