Sunday’s spring high-school highlights

Here is a look back at the high-school sports action from Saturday night:

Baseball:

— There was plenty of offense in Woodinville’s 14-11 win against Central Kitsap. Jake Damarose was 4-4 with a double, two RBI and three runs scored. Also going 4-4 with a double was Conner Jones, who drove in three runs and scored twice.

Tyler Baumgartner hit a grand slam for Central Kitsap and teammate John Fergus was 3-4 with a double and two runs scored.

Austin Denton was the hero in Marysville-Pilchuck’s 16-inning win against Monroe. With two out and the bases loaded in the top of the 16th, Denton cleared the bases with a three-run double that would give MP a 7-4 win. Denton was 4-7 on the day.

Monroe’s Jared Boisseranc went 5-8 with two doubles and two RBI. Teammate Tyler Ihrig struck out eleven in nine scoreless innings.

— Bothell’s Michael Marriott was 3-3 with a double and an RBI in a 4-2 win against Bellevue.

Tyger Garces hit a two-run home run in Eastmont’s 9-4 win against Mercer Island at Safeco Field. He finished with three RBI.

Boys soccer:

Trevor Bartels scored two goals for King’s on assists from Nick Swanson. Matt Matysik earned a shutout in a 2-0 win against Sultan.

Brent Campbell had three goals and two assists to help Ballard beat Bishop Blanchet, 5-0. Sofien El-Mehrik added a goal and two assists. Mel Hernandez got the shutout for Ballard, which won for the first time this season.
