Derek Witt to coach Juanita boys basketball

Juanita High School athletic director Tim Crowder announced Friday that Derek Witt has been hired to coach boys basketball

Witt, who most recently worked as the assistant boy’s basketball coach at Woodinville, brings 16 years of experience to Juanita.

He has been a head coach for both girls and boys basketball at both the high school and community college levels.

He played both basketball and baseball at the collegiate level and “grew up in a gym,” as the son of a long time basketball coach in Birmingham, Ala.

“His experience, passion, and deep understanding of the game of basketball make this hire very exciting for Juanita High School,” Crowder said in a press release.
