Bob Sandall is the new Kentridge girls basketball coach.
It’s his third stop in the Kent School District. Sandall previously coached at Kentwood for four seasons in the late 1980s and had a two-year stint at Kentlake in 1999-2001.
“Kentridge is excited to have Bob Sandall as our head girls’ basketball coach,” athletic director Eric Anderson said. “He brings a wealth of high school and SPSL experience to the head coaching position. His knowledge of our girls and the KR community will be a great asset to all involved in the program.”
Sandall succeeds Mark Champoux, who resigned after four seasons. Anderson said Champoux and his wife are expecting their third child. Champoux is also an assistant golf and baseball coach.
Kentridge won just one girls basketball game last season and was 19-61 over the past four seasons. The Chargers have not had a winning season since winning the SPSL 4A North Division title at 14-2 in 2003-04, finishing 18-6 overall.
